About ramenZen
ramenZen is a 3-minute timer for your ramen, with a zen-like buzzer.
It's designed to give you a moment of peace and focus while you wait for your noodles to be perfectly cooked. The buzzer sound is inspired by the JR East Osaki Station departure melody, known for its simple, calming tone.
The mechanism behind ramenZen
The mechanism behind ramenZen is said to have originated from the experience of Japanese haiku poet Matsuo Basho, who, while listening to the loud chirping of cicadas, entered a state of tranquility, resulting in a brain cleansing effect that led to the creation of his famous haiku, "The silence of the cicadas seeping into the rocks." (In my opinion, the effect is remarkable. Please give it a try while your cup noodles are being prepared!)
